Sanitisation and disinfection cleaning – more than just fogging
How clean is your knob?
When this pandemic first started back in March 2020 very few people had heard of the term fogging. No one had any idea that the pandemic would carry on for so long and have such an impact on our lives. Here at Rutland Cleaning we had undergone extensive training in disinfection cleaning and fogging as we thought it could be a small add on to our existing services. We never envisaged that fogging and disinfection cleaning would become a major part of our work.
Fortunately we had equipped ourselves with the best fogging equipment and a chemical, Envirosafe, that had been tested and approved under EN14476 as being effective against coronaviruses and other enveloped viruses. We had also armed ourselves with a digital Hygienas ATP testing machine so that we could show that any cleaning undertaken was effective.
ATP testing is the industry accepted best practice for testing that a surface is clean. It does not test for the virus but instead for a protein that is present on contaminated surfaces. Clean to such an extent that the protein is no longer present and any contamination will have been treated at the same time. We test several areas before cleaning and then test after cleaning to ensure that we have been successful.
Its this attention to detail and thoroughness that separates us from other companies offering a fogging service.
Fogging on its own is not enough. Unless the surfaces have already been subject to a deep clean simply fogging a chemical over them will have no effect. Thats why we always deep clean all touch areas and surfaces prior to fogging. Our ATP testing, before and after treatment, also proves that the cleaning has been effective.
Post treatment we provide a certificate of treatment and a report of the ATP testing results.
