This year’s Valentines Day made me think about what makes for a truly romantic gesture. Does a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers really say how you feel about someone?
We live in a busy world full of noise and distractions. We’re short on time and fuelled by stress. We see picture perfect homes and it depresses us when we look at ours.
Perhaps something more practical is the key to your Valentine’s heart. Whether it’s helping with the housework, doing a load of ironing or getting the carpets cleaned, there are plenty of wise ways to spend your money.
A Romantic Valentine Gesture? Get Original!
Your home doesn’t have to resemble a scene from DIY SOS to need a bit of attention. With a little tender loving care, dull tired carpets and rugs can be cleaned and refreshed. The sofa that’s covered strategically with a patterned throw can have a new lease of life. And the leather armchairs that have lost their rich patina, can be restored and revived.
The Great British weather doesn’t exactly do our gardens, patios or driveways any favours either, particularly in the winter. But you’d be amazed at what I can achieve for you.
Imagine being able to get rid of all that moss, lichen and muck from your patio without having to lift a finger!

As the cost of living increases, we’re less likely to buy things for ourselves. So it’s even more of a treat when we’re able to spoil someone and do something of real value for them. Stately homes have known for decades that looking after possessions is far more important than buying new ones.
Of course, you don’t have to wait for someone else to come to your rescue. It’s easy to procrastinate over those household jobs that need doing but you just don’t know where to start. I make it easy for you – all you have to do is pick up the phone or send me a message!
Have A Heart
Now, some of you might be thinking that none of this sounds very romantic. But you have to ask yourselves, have we fallen for commercialism and forgotten the true meaning of giving from the heart? Thinking of how we can help someone, and doing something that they don’t expect, is surely a better use of our time and money and delivers longer lasting results.
Valentine thoughts aside, you might know someone who’s just moving home who needs some help. Moving house is one of the most stressful life-events and booking a deep carpet clean is a really thoughtful gesture.
It’s difficult to ask for the things we need and wonderful when someone takes the time and trouble to reach out with practical solutions.
